Multi-award winning bridal boutique TDR Bridal celebrates 15 years in business.

Wedding Events

An independent, Birmingham-based wedding dress shop has recently celebrated its 15th anniversary and re-launched with a whole new look to celebrate. Guests at an exclusive evening event at the boutique – including the local mayor and many of the UK’s best bridal designers – gathered for a day full of joy, which was rounded off with a catwalk presentation showcasing some of the boutique’s 400+ gowns. Local brides and businesses were invited into the fully air conditioned boutique and treated to wonderful drinks and canapés and a fabulous cake by local cake designer The Couture Cake Company.

Widely praised for her innovative approach to business, managing director of TDR Bridal, Rebecca Baddeley is proud to “do things differently”, somehow managing to navigate the devastating impact that Covid had on the wedding industry, and even declaring that the crazy rush of brides looking to have their dress ordered and altered for their 2022/23/24 wedding has left the boutique “buzzing”.

One of the largest stockists of bridal- and menswear in the UK, it’s no surprise that TDR Bridal is again on the shortlist for much-coveted retailer of the year industry-led awards. Being respected by their peers and industry colleagues is one thing, but TDR’s brides are at the heart of everything TDR does in its day-to-day operations. And Rebecca and her team never stop in their endeavours to be the best, joining the Purple Tuesday movement, providing great access and facilities for wheelchair users, taking lessons and advice on how to be altogether even more inclusive and even learning sign language puts them at the leading edge of bridal retail.

As well as the boutique and the menswear offerings, TDR also offers off-the-peg former sample dresses in its outlet, meaning brides can walk away with a designer dress for a fraction of the normal retail price. TDR Bridal is proud to stock an extensive range of plus-sized dresses, including a whole suite of beautiful gowns for girls to try on, from a UK size 6-32. Designer names include Sassi Holford, Enzoani, Morilee, Ronald Joyce, Jolie by Berta, Sottero and Midgley and the eponymous collections from Justin Alexander. The boutique even has a team of in-house seamstresses, a huge range of accessories and veils, merchandise to take away on the purchase of a gown and even offers 0% finance as an option for brides who would prefer to spread the cost of their dress over time. On ordering their dress, brides join an exclusive private Facebook group, a hand-picked selection of luxury wedding related gifts and even MD Rebecca’s personal phone number in case of any wedding-related emergency, worry or woe. TDR brides join a very unique family, full of love and respect for each other.

On celebrating 15 years at the top, Rebecca had this to say:
“I am so proud to have achieved 15 years in business. It’s been tough in the wedding industry through Covid but rather than shut off and shut up shop, I embraced the lockdowns, using the time to create a new business plan and develop all the ideas that I had to grow the business even further, ready to hit the ground running when it was all over. TDR is constantly developing but at its heart is a team with a passion to provide brides with the best advice, support and shopping experience to help them find the dress of their dreams. My team work so hard, they’re simply amazing!”
